Holy Fasting to the LORD!

There are few topics as emotionally charged as holy fasting in the USA. We know the reasons if we were honest and took one look down the church pews or one look down the shopping isles…we are gluttonous, our sins go before us, and we live the carnal, worldly, good life.

As we prepare for the National Repentance Meeting of the LORD and the Coming of the Messiah, let us make Holy Fasting part of our lifestyle where we buffet the flesh, and measure our Christian walk according to the standards of the Bible rather than the standards of men.

Many in the church are out buying and selling, but we know from Matt 25:1-13 (Parable of the 10 Virgins) that only the wise church will be prepared with the oil of the Holy Spirit, while the apostate church is teaching so much grace to do whatever we want, eating and drinking as in the Days of Noah!  The bible teaches fasting as a lifestyle whether old testament or new testament for our God changes not.  We find this true in the following scriptures below:

Daniel call to repentance and fasting, Daniel 9:3.
Fasting commanded by Christ, Matthew 17:21
Apostle Paul, 1 Corinthians 9:27
Apostles, Acts 13:3, Acts 9:9, John and disciples Luke 1:15
Messiah, Matt 4:2
Moses, Exodus 34:28
Elijah, 1 Kings 19:8
Samuel and Priests, 1 Samuel 7:6

This brief article contains the instructions from the LORD as we engage Holy Fasting, as well as practical experience and challenges that are relatively unique to the church in the USA.

We understand some of the spiritual significance in this deep teaching of the LORD, yet even at the most basic level we find that although we desire to inherit the Kingdom of God, in the USA, we devour the delicacies of this world in every manner. Daniel 1:1-21

The check book and our stomachs;  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  Matthew 6:21

From the Prophet’s Office

“The following instructions will help you inculcate fasting as a lifestyle in your Christian walk:

1) Begin by taking only drinks for 3 days

2) Break the fast and eat normally

3) The next fast should be 2 days dry fast and break by eating normally.

4) Then next time fast 3 days dry fast

5) Then 4 days dry fast

6) However when you do dry fast, you must break with fluids first then gradually eat light and soft foods like eggs, mashed potatoes, noodles till you recover well.

7) Avoid fasting when doing exams or having a work presentation or major undertaking.”

Isaiah 58:5-11 (Amplified)

Is such a fast as yours what I have chosen, a day for a man to humble himself with sorrow in his soul? [Is true fasting merely mechanical?] Is it only to bow down his head like a bulrush and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him [to indicate a condition of heart that he does not have]? Will you call this a fast and an acceptable day to the Lord?

[Rather] is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every [enslaving] yoke?

Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house—when you see the naked, that you cover him, and that you hide not yourself from [the needs of] your own flesh and blood?

Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity], and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, Here I am. If you take away from your midst yokes of oppression [wherever you find them], the finger pointed in scorn [toward the oppressed or the godly], and every form of false, harsh, unjust, and wicked speaking,

10 And if you pour out that with which you sustain your own life for the hungry and satisfy the need of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in darkness, and your obscurity and gloom become like the noonday.

11 And the Lord shall guide you continually and satisfy you in drought and in dry places and make strong your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.

Sin of Sodom in the USA: “‘Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. (Eze 16:49-50) The church in the U.S. fasts only when it sleeps. In fact, the church in the United States has fasted fasting, altogether. Holy fasting is made particularly difficult and painful with our U.S. specific diet addictions:

1 sugar, sucrose, chocolate, processed sweets, pastries.
2 fats, oils, hotdogs, processed fats, fast foods, fast fats.
3 sodium, salt, MSG, chips, frozen foods, dining out foods.
4 caffeine, sodas, teas, coffees, energy drinks, chocolates again.

And a myriad of other addictive chemicals that are added to our foods that are not disclosed.

However, we have the Mighty Holy Holy Spirit, and the Blood of the Lamb to overcome all addictions, for we know that Christ overcame sin that we too would not be overcome with sin. Thus, we afflict the soul and the flesh in Holy Fasting to walk in the Spirit for the Spirit is hostile to the flesh and the flesh is hostile to the Spirit. (Romans 8:5-8, Galatians 5:16-22)

Dan 9:3 And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said, “O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land.

1 Corinthians 9:27

27 But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit].

Nehemiah 1:4-7
4 When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. 5 Then I said:

“Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, 6 let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you. 7 We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses

I THANK THE LORD FOR TEACHING US, BUT MAY THE LORD OF ISRAEL, THE GOD OF THE MIGHTY PROPHET FORGIVE KENYA. I repent as a Kenyan for failing to Protect HIS GLORY.
